An experimental study to assess the effectiveness of sitz bath in reduction of episiotomy pain among the postnatal mothers in selected hospital of Kasganj, UP

Background: Episiotomy is a common surgical procedure performed during second stage of labour to enlarge the vaginal introits and facilitate delivery. Although episiotomy aids in safe delivery child, discomfort an added concern already over stressed situation puerperium. pain often interferes with even basic daily activities postnatal mother. Considering high rates episiotomy, following deliveries, we need offer patients treatment alternatives for perineal pain, based on scientific evidence.Objectives: To assess intensity before after sitz bath among mothers. effectiveness find out association between selected demographic variables.Method: A quasi-experimental (one-group pretest posttest) design was used this study. The sample size consisted 30 mothers who had normal episiotomy. Purposive sampling technique select samples. Data collected by using numerical scale assessing pain. Intervention (sitz bath) administered 15-20 minutes, continued two days both morning evening.Data analyzed descriptive inferential statistics.Result: In study, Age wise distribution samples shows majority 17(56.67%) lie age group 24 29 years, 10(33.33%) 18 23 3(10%) 35 years no one lies more than age. Parity shows, that 20(66.67%) were primi 10(33.3%) multiparous According place residence, 19(63.33%) living rural area 11 (36.67%) urban area. Education, 13(43.33%) graduate, 12(40%) higher secondary, 5(16.67%) school illiterate. Nutritional status that, 22(73.33%) them well nourished, 4 (13.33%) mal nourished 4(13.33%) nourished.
